Message from the Chair

Doug Daye, DTM

How many of you have been to a Toastmasters District conference? It's a fantastic opportunity to get outside of your club and see what else is happening in the world of Toastmasters.

There are several seminars intended to make you a better speaker, leader and Toastmaster. And, you'll get to hear some amazing speeches from international award winners. It is also a chance to make new friends and possibly even meet up with old ones.

As the conferences are planned and conducted by Toastmasters, these are good showcases of speaking and leadership skills, plus opportunities to learn, laugh, and interact with other Toastmasters from around the conference and beyond.

If you've never been to a Toastmasters District Conference — this is your year to start! And if you're a veteran, you'll find even more of what you''e come for before! Here's what you have in store:

  • Stay at a beautiful hotel (Sheraton Parkway, Richmond Hill)
  • Great food, fun, dancing and festivities
  • The workshops and speech contests are phenomenal!
  • Inspirational International Speech Contest speeches
  • Exciting and educational Speech Evaluation Contest

You'll also meet International Director and past District 60 Governor, John Rich, DTM, and hear Vikas Jhingran from Cambridge, Massachusetts, the 2007 Toastmasters World Champion of Public Speaking.

Come celebrate with us District 60's 50th Anniversary in a big way and help us celebrate the new Districts 60 and 86.
